Faith Gonsalves, founder of music basti, 2008, is a firm believer of sharing ideas, sharing goals and there by sharing this world. She believes that sport, music or any service can bring forth millions of people to join the common cause through use of social media and technology. Music is now being used, on many occasions, to unite people and cut across socio – economic barriers towards a common good. Recently, projects have been carried forth with children as the main performers and this has widened the scope of engaging people across different corners of the world towards spreading awareness about imperative issues.
Faith Gonsalves, further shared her interaction with an Australian born photographer, settled in Afghanistan. He, in order to bring about semblance of peace has started a programme called a Skateistan. Nowadays, blogging has become an interesting and powerful medium to reach out to people, especially projects where women are involved. Various projects, have made use of digital media to reach out to different parts of the world, some of these are, chain org, kafila, awaaz.org, purpose are a few to name. She claims that it’s not only the medium, but the person behind it is equally important.
